HELLO ,

Before dealing with the articles, we should notice that the articles are put before certain nouns as the countable nouns .

Articles cannot be used before the proper nouns .

There are two kinds of articles, definite or indefinite articles :

1) The definite article (the). This article is put before the nouns that are singular or plural .

2) The indefinite articles . These articles are  (a - an).

(A): It is used before the Countable nouns which are in the Singular. It is omitted in the plural. It is used before the nouns which begin with Consonants.

For example, a boy , a table, and a chair. But not add in (plural) like boys, tables ....etc.

(An): It is used before the Countable nouns that begin with vowels ( a - e - i - u )and it is also omitted in the plural:

For example, an apple, an egg, an orange.But not add in (plural) like apples, eggs, oranges ...etc.

Notice: if nouns are preceded by any adjective the articles come before these adjectives . 

Example: 1- He is a good man

2- This is a nice story

3-We see an old man

4- She has an apple in her hand 

There is another article , we can add (Some) 

(Some): This can be used as an article before the uncountable nouns and the plural nouns which are countable .

For example: Some water, Some milk or Some boys, Some books....etc.
